IoT Demo Site

Welcome to IoTConnectivity.co.uk

This site has been created to provide a blog covering all things IoT, with interesting news, insights, and practical observations from across the industry.

Alongside the blog, the site also hosts a couple of interactive demonstrations that showcase real-world IoT connectivity and data flows.

The first demo is an Energy Generation demonstration, showing how power can be generated using a solar panel and automatically switched to a wind turbine when conditions change. A Raspberry Pi is used to collect the data, which is securely transmitted over a cellular connection to the application server.

The second demo is a Distance Measurement demonstration, using a distance sensor to measure depth or bin-fill levels. Data is transmitted over a low-power network and visualised in near real time.

The third demo is a Smart Home example with live sensors controlling lights and plugs, with energy monitoring, temperature, and air quality coming soon.

We have now added AI features across the site, including an AI assistant for page-aware questions, a daily AI overview with anomaly detection and forecasting, and admin controls for AI fallback and usage limits.

The Bin Monitoring solution provides a complete waste management demo, with an interactive map showing bin locations, fill levels, and alerts. View bins above the empty threshold, simulate fire and vandalism alerts, optimise collection routes, and manage depot and disposal locations. The system supports both simulated and sensor-based real bins, with configurable bin types and fill-level visualisation.
